On pole dancing and motherhood

Now that's a hot mama

Now that’s one hot mama

I consider this a deep, dark secret… but oh well, I’ll tell you now since you’ll promise not to tell anyone, right? *wink*

Somewhere back in 2008 – 2009 or so, I actually toyed with the idea of *gasp!* having a kid. I thought maybe 2011 would be an appropriate time, since it was a whole 2 years away.

I even went as far as to go out and buy a book called “The Yummy Mummy’s Survival Guide“. It’s a great book for the expecting or hopefully-expecting.

Trouble is, after reading all about the realities of getting pregnant, giving birth, and having a baby, I realised that I really didn’t want to do any of it anytime soon.

So I ditched that idea and haven’t really looked back. Also, instead of having a baby in 2011, I started pole dancing! Looking back, it was a no-brainer of a choice for me.

But I do still occasionally toy with the idea of having a kid… in maybe 3 years or so. Though I’ve been saying that for the past 6 years now.

The only difference is that I now wonder how on earth I’d ever manage to stop pole dancing for the 9 whole months it takes to have one! (And yes, I know you don’t just pop out a baby and jump back on the nearest pole.)

How do I know this? Because 3 of my lovely instructors at Bobbi’s are mothers! Including my favorite booty-shaking sexy momma of all time, Po.lita.

And it does make me feel better knowing that it’s possible to have a baby and still get pole-fit again. So on those occasional days when I’m toying with the idea of maybe having a kid in the next 3 years, I at least know for sure that it can be done.

In the meantime, if you’re thinking of having a baby, or already are a proud parent, you might enjoy reading these interviews about pole dancing and motherhood, with the hot sexy momma’s of Bobbi’s Pole Studio Singapore:

  1. My daughter was a year old when I took up pole dancing and I can’t imagine having to stop for a year to have another! We’re one and done.
However, being a mommy is awesome. And I’m sure you know your pole will be there waiting for you when you’re ready to get back in the swing of things. Plus, babies sleep alllllll the time. The older they get the harder it is to find time 🙂

Lucky you for being able to just concentrate on being a hot pole momma now! Yes I know the day I (ever) have one I’ll be happy to leave the pole for a bit but I’m just not there yet :p

  2. Ive seen someone poling when pregnant – sure there are things to avoid and times when its not best but its still doable. Theres a whole section on it on the vertical dance website 🙂

babies DO NOT SLEEP ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!! 🙂 Some babies sleep all the time, if you are lucky! But where there is a will there is a way! You can def get pole fit again, you just need to be organised! Took me a long time to get back into it, but it’s worth it 🙂
