I know I have… I just got back home late last night from an amazing vacation in Taipei, where I ate, shopped, spent time with dear ones, ate and shopped some more, and did absolutely no pole dancing.
That’s right. All my plans to check out Perfect Dance and Sexy Fit pole studios got flung out the window, along with all regard for my waistline.
I tell myself that if I’d had double the time in Taipei, I’d definitely have gotten my act together and found the motivation to tear myself away from the awesome cheap shopping and heavenly food long enough to have checked out a pole studio or two there as well.
But something about cold weather just brings out the lazy, greedy, pig in me.. When faced with the difficult task of choosing between going for pole or having a nice hot meal with friends, the food won every time! And I have no regrets!
The shopping is amazing too. I’ve been to Taipei 3 times in the past few years, but every time I go, I still think that its my favourite city to shop in, beating Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
Fortunately for my credit card, almost all the clothing was for cold weather which means I wouldn’t be able to wear them back home in Singapore.
But I found loads of little shops that sell nothing but socks, tights, leggings and hosiery, at mind-bogglingly low prices so I went a little nuts. I think I bought about 10 pairs of over-the-knee socks in different colours, and maybe 5 new pairs of patterned tights all at $70-100 NTW (Approx $3 – $4) a pair.
Perfect for sliding around on the floor with during Slap and wearing under my thigh-high pole boots!
Term 1 for the new year doesn’t start until Jan 7th, so I have some time to whip myself back into shape before then. But in the meantime, I’m off to pig out some more at my parents’ place for our annual family Christmas dinner, heheheh…
Have a merry Christmas!!
